Mario's Legacy
Trattoria Fieramosca is a cherished culinary gem that began its journey over 40 years ago, thanks to the vision of Mario Micucci, one of the pioneers of downtown Italian dining. Born in the quaint region of Basilicata, Italy, Mario's passion for authentic Italian cuisine and artistry laid the foundation for this iconic restaurant.
Although Mario sadley passed away in 2015 his legacy lives on through his devoted wife and partner since 2010, Floriana. She lovingly owns and operates Trattoria Fieramosca today, preserving Mario's dream and culinary traditions.
The space is adorned with vintage statues and paintings, a reflection of Mario's extensive travels and deep appreciation for art. His collection not only infuses the restaurant with a unique ambiance of kitsch and old-world charm but also pays homage to his love for nurturing artists, whom he often treated to meals.
Beyond his passion for art, Mario was an avid wine collector. Today, Trattoria Fieramosca boasts a curated selection of wines, including some prized old vintages, adding to the restaurant's allure and sophistication.
At Trattoria Fieramosca, we believe in welcoming our guests to a warm, family-like environment. Here, you'll experience home-cooked Italian meals crafted from time-honored recipes, many of which Mario would passionately share stories about. He delighted in introducing people to his signature dishes and recounting tales of how they were lovingly invented by his mother.
Join us at Trattoria Fieramosca, where every meal is a journey through Mario's legacy, celebrating authentic Italian flavors, art, and heartfelt hospitality.
